Touch Data Systems/Principles of Business
 

My name is Ms. Olivas, and I am looking forward to teaching your son/daughter typing skills and technology applications in Touch Data Systems course. The course offers your child 1/2 credit of High School Credit. Some of the software they will learn is Microsoft Word, Power Point, Spreadsheets, Access and Publisher. We will be on a school network so students will be saving their work on the computers. STUDENTS WILL NOT NEED TO USE OR HAVE THEIR CELL PHONES/DIGITAL DEVICES IN MY CLASSROOM, UNLESS WE HAVE A SPECIAL PROJECT. We will also be learning about Careers and use Career2Career to create a portfolio and create a program of study for High school.

I WILL BE USING episd.schoology.com to post assignments weekly.  We will also be using an online book on sam.cengage.com.  Both websites can be accessed from home and some of the weekly lessons will have to be completed at home. GRADING- IS BASED ON A STRAIGHT AVERAGE. When a student is absent it is THEIR responsibility to ask me if they are missing any assignments. Please follow the guidelines for Homework, late work and Redo assignments policies listed on Student Handbook.

SUPPLIES:  Paper, Pencil, Box of Kleenex and/or 1 Disinfectant Wipes. The Disinfectant Wipes are very important because students pick up colds, etc from touching their keyboards. So please bring at least Disinfectant Wipes!

*COME PREPARED FOR CLASS (PAPER, PENCIL, HANDOUTS)
* PLEASE RAISE HAND FOR PERMISSION TO LEAVE YOUR SEAT! ONLY 1 STUDENT AT A TIME CAN GO TO THE BATHROOM 
*FOLLOW THE TEACHERS INSTRUCTIONS AND PLEASE BE QUIET WHILE INSTRUCTION IS GOING ON SO YOU CAN HEAR THE INSTRUCTION
*FOLLOW ALL SCHOOL RULES!! DRESS CODE, NO GUM IN CLASS.

DISCIPLINE CONSEQUENCES: PLEASE READ STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT! I WILLTAKE THE PROPER PROCEDURE FOR DISCIPLINE REFERRALS!
